Clinton wasn´t the first, nor will he be the last. Spin control can be done well or badly. Bill Clinton
called a lawyer. Nancy Reagan called a PHOTOGRAPHER. Tacky, but effective. If the White House had mailed millions of Bill `n Monica post cards, we´d all have had a good laugh and the whole thing might have blown over in a day or
two. Then again, that was a different era. People didn´t seem to care WHAT happened in the Reagan White House. Take Mister T, here. He doesn´t seem to have a CLUE what´s going on. On loan from the collection of Clark Wells (see Links page)Caption: "For goodness sake, it´s strapping Mr. T in his sleeveless red santa suit wowing the children of the Washington
diplomatic corps after Nancy Reagan properly kissed him as she took first turn on his ample knee. Bedecked in white feathers, a plethora of jingling gold jewelry, and a bag of `little T´ dolls, Mr. T gave the press a mock scolding
about not `writing anything mean about the Reagans or I´ll have to call on you.´ Ho-ho-ho!" Credits: Coral-Lee, Rancho Cordova, CA. Photo by Mary Anne Fackelman |
