Millican Dalton, Professor of Adventure

Okay, I admit it. I know nothing about Millican Dalton. As you know, that seldom deters me. But send along your Millican Dalton anecdotes anyway. If you can shed some light on why he merited a post card, IŽll be glad to publish your account.

All IŽve been able to piece together is that this guy was a genuine eccentric who died in 1947. He lived alone in a cave in Yorkshire, England, and scrabbled out a living as a guide, taking people on long walks through the countryside. All I can tell you about this thing heŽs piloting is that a hand-lettered sign on the front says, "Rogue Herries" (which is the title of a novel by Hugh Walpole, and is mentioned in Monty PythonŽs Cheese Shop Sketch).

So, why is this man immortalized on a post card? If you know, email me.
