Grants Pass: "Evolving with pride, walking upright into the future."

America is a diverse nation, and community pride takes many forms. This statue at the edge of town, for example, greets visitors to Grants Pass, Oregon.

Now, I'm sure there's a perfectly plausible reason why this town chose a Neanderthal with a brain the size of a walnut as a symbol of the community. But I can't think of one.
