Forksville: No need for reservations.

The caption says this "activity" involves a pig, and is "attended by thousands."

Oh, really? I see six cars, one camper, and about 19 people. There“s not even a PIG. Maybe the event was more popular before they began promoting it with these post cards.

You have to admire the photographer's integrity, though. He could easily have fooled us by framing a nice composition showing bows poised for action, or the rapt attention of spectators. Instead, he chose a vantage point that emphasizes butts, backs of heads, and a rust-streaked car daubed with festive patches of primer.

This is photorealism at its gritty best. We have more of Ralph“s work, too.

Caption: "Bowhunter's Festival, Forksville, PA -- This event, held annually in September, in which the contestants, both young and old, compete in archery skills against lifelike moving targets situated in natural forest surroundings. This Endless Mountain activity is attended by thousands. A highlight of the event is the wild boar hunt."
