Can this be Belgium's official stance on European federation? This little fountain in Brussels is
called "Manneken-Pis" in Flemish (in English, "Pissing Statue").A few years ago, Belgium joined the European Union. To celebrate, they draped the little pissing man in the official FLAG of the EU! True,
he's not pissing directly ON the flag, but still. You've got to admit it's a pretty startling gesture by one of the few countries that actually WANTED to join. And here it is, immortalized on a post card. What were they THINKING?
[Ed. note: We´ve received LOTS of mail from Belgium about this card. Most messages make the point that Belgium was a founder of the EU, rather than just a member. I suppose so, since these people put the "Be" in Benelux, and it
